The Faction Studio Grom Skis are built for young shredders who want to progress their freestyle game with confidence and style. With a playful flex and durable construction, these skis are ready to take on park laps, side hits, and everything in between.

Mustache Flex

The 'Mustache Flex' pattern is ideal for most skiers. It offers stability in front of and behind the binding for solid edge hold, with a smooth, progressive flex in the tips and tails to absorb bumps and snow debris. Perfect for progression and easier turn initiation and finish.

Sidecut

Elliptical Sidecut

Made up of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail of the ski. The long radius underfoot means you can pivot faster and easier, while a shorter radius in the tip and tail results in seamless turn initiation. This sidecut allows for a wide variety of turn lengths and angles.

Shape

Mana Progressive Twin

The slightly skinnier tail + wider tip = superior downhill performance vs. a symmetrical twin. Tip & tail height are identical, however, for optimal switch skiing. Generous rocker + modest camber = wonderfully playful character. And moderate taper + Elliptical Sidecut = precise handling and carving

Core

Poplar/Ash Core

Poplar is a light, durable softwood known for its flex, pop, and excellent vibration absorption. Ash, a heavier hardwood, adds stiffness and durability. Together as a duo, they offer great hold on hard snow, a solid base for landings, and enough pop and flex for creative maneuvers.

Sidewalls

Full Strength Sidewall

This construction places strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge and the topsheet. Sidewalls provide the best possible edge hold and stability when the ski is engaged in a turn as well as protecting the wood core, edges and topsheet from impacts and outside damage.

Anti-Chip Micro-Cap

The Anti-chip Micro Cap protects the ski's tips and tails from wear and tear. Where the ski's topsheet wraps around and meets the sidewall, this delicate area is shielded by the Micro Cap. This protects from chipping and additional sidewall damage, each day you set out on the mountain.

    Terrain

    All-Mountain
All-mountain skis are designed to handle anything you throw at them including powder, ice, groomers, steeps, heavy snow, and everything in between, but they aren’t necessarily a master of any one terrain. If you’re only going to own one ski to do it all, this is what you want. All-mountain skis generally have what we call mid-fat waists that range from 80-110 mm. Big Mountain
Big mountain skis are designed for charging big lines with high speeds and big airs. These skis varry in width from wide, powder-oriented skis for skiing Alaska spines to narrower, mixed condition skis for ripping the beat up headwall at your local mountain. Skis in this category tend to be on the stiffer side, often with more rocker in the tip and less in the tail.

    Ability Level

    Advanced-Expert
Whether you charge the steepest lines, hit the biggest jumps in the park or carve with race-like precision, advanced to expert level skis, snowboards, boots and bindings are for the more aggressive rider. In skis and snowboards, you'll often find layers of metal, carbon or other stringers for rigidity and power, while advanced to expert level boots and bindings are usually on the stiffer side of the spectrum for rebound and precision steering.

  • Rocker Type:
    Rocker/Camber/Rocker

    More

    Rocker Type

    Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as well as the added edge hold of a cambered ski.The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier.

    Full Twin Tip
Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis. More and more, we are seeing twin tips on all-mountain skis of all abilities, as it makes it a little easier to get around, and for the most part does not inhibit forward skiing.
