Designed in collaboration with Olympic gold medallist Eileen Gu, the Faction Studio 0 Gu Skis are specially engineered to help you showcase your skills in the park. Their symmetrical twin tip design and 83 mm waist width is perfect for hard pack days when you’re feeling sendy, with rubber reinforced carbon stomp pads underfoot for extra strength and durability on the landing. When it’s time to go big, look no further than the Faction Studio 0 Gu Skis.

Flex
Flex Rating
–
7 (1 = Soft, 10 = Stiff)
Boat Flex
–
Boat flex combines a stiffer tip and tail to help settle the skis at speed, with a softer mid section, for big-time pop on request.
Sidecut
Elliptical Sidecut
–
Elliptical Sidecut is made up of a longer radius underfoot and shorter radii in the tip and tail of the ski.
The long radius underfoot means you can pivot faster and easier, while a shorter radius in the tip and tail
result in easier turn initiation. This sidecut allows for a wide variety of turn lengths, angles and mounting
positions.
Shape
Symmetrical True Twin
Core
Sustainable Poplar Wood Core
–
Poplar is a light-colored, medium-weight, durable softwood that flexes and pops nicely as well as having
a whole load of vibration absorption capabilities. Used as the only wood in this core, it allows the ski to
pop, butter and stomp like an all-mountain freestyle ski and also have enough torsional stability to grip
impressively on the downhill.
Laminates
Full Carbon Weave
–
Between 8 and 12 strips of carbon, sandwiching either side of the ski’s woodcore, are laid unidirectionally, providing extra stability to the ski, without adding weight to the build. Each carbon strip is woven into the fiberglass to provide strength and stiffness in the full length of the ski.
Carbon-Rubber Stomp Pad
–
A 600mm-long, 15mm-wide carbon/rubber reinforcement underfoot, above the edge, adds strength
where it matters most to this playful all-mountain ski. In addition to protecting the wood core from
heavy-duty impact on rails, the carbon and rubber inlay adds stability and vibration absorption under
your boots, so that stomped landings feel better, both for you and your skis.
Sidewalls
Full Strength Sidewall
–
A construction that places strips of protective material along the sides of each core, between the edge and the topsheet. Sidewalls provide the best possible edge hold and stability when the ski is engaged in a turn as well as protecting the woodcore and edges.
Anti-chip Micro-cap
–
Micro-cap is a hybrid of premium sandwich sidewall fused with durable lightweight cap construction. Provides strong edge hold, torsional stability, and protects joint prone to chipping.
Edges
XL 2.5mm Edges
–
Fractions of a millimeter might not sound like much, but when it comes to edges, it adds up. The
2.5mm edges add an extra 25% of height to Faction's standard 2mm edge, making for a stronger and more durable ski.

Park & Pipe
Park and pipe skis, often called freestyle skis, are for skiers who spend the majority of their time on jumps, rails, and jibs of all kinds. Traditionally park and pipe skis have narrower waists with full camber profiles, but this category is incorporating more rocker patterns and different shapes. You will almost always find these skis with twin tips as well as other park specific features like thicker, more durable edges, dense extruded bases, and butter zones. -

Intermediate-AdvancedMore
Ability Level
Intermediate-Advanced
Whether you’re a progressing intermediate exploring new runs and terrain, or an accomplished rider seeking new thrills, the majority of skiers and snowboarders fall into this level. Intermediate to advanced skis and snowboards may be somewhat wider or stiffer than beginner-intermediate skis and snowboards, usually with a stronger wood core and sandwich sidewall construction. Intermediate to advanced boots and bindings range from softer flexing freestyle options to stiffer choices built for stability at speed. -
Rocker Type:
Rocker/Camber/RockerMore
Rocker Type
Rocker/Camber/Rocker
Rocker/Camber/Rocker skis have the playfulness and float of a rockered ski as well as the added edge hold of a cambered ski.The contact points on skis with this profile are closer towards the middle of the ski than a fully cambered ski, but still not underfoot. The cambered midsection provides a longer effective edge on hardpack, increasing edge hold and stability, while the rockered tip and tail provide floatation in deeper snow and allow the ski to initiate and release from turns easier. -

Full Twin Tip
Desinged to allow you to ski backwards, full twin tips are found primarily on park & pipe skis and freestyle powder skis. More and more, we are seeing twin tips on all-mountain skis of all abilities, as it makes it a little easier to get around, and for the most part does not inhibit forward skiing. -
